tackle football
Full-contact pigskin sport
Tackle football is the standard form of American or Canadian football in which players physically bring down ball carriers by grabbing and forcing them to the ground.
The term distinguishes the full-contact sport from flag or touch football, where tackles are replaced by pulling flags or touching: My son plays flag football now but wants to move up to tackle football next year.
