draft picks
Chosen future players
Draft picks are selections made in professional sports drafts, where teams take turns choosing players from a pool of eligible talent.
The term refers both to the selections themselves and to the players chosen: The team traded two draft picks for a veteran quarterback.
A high or low draft pick indicates position in the selection order—earlier picks typically secure more coveted players.
