A-teams

A-teams are the best or most skilled groups within an organization, as opposed to backup or secondary squads.

The term comes from military and sports contexts where the "A" designates the top tier: They sent their A-team to handle the negotiation.

The singular A-team gained cultural prominence from the 1980s television series about elite mercenaries.
