west
Toward setting sun
West is the direction where the sun sets, opposite east.
It's one of the four cardinal directions, used in navigation and orientation: The trail heads west from here.
As an adjective or adverb, it describes location or movement: the west side of town, driving west on the highway.
A west wind blows from the west. (Capitalized West refers to a geopolitical region or proper name.)
