waxwing
Silky crested bird
A waxwing is a crested songbird with silky plumage, named for the waxy red tips on some wing feathers.
Three species exist worldwide, including the cedar waxwing and Bohemian waxwing of North America.
They travel in flocks and feed heavily on berries: A flock of waxwings stripped the holly bush in an hour.
