warwolf

Medieval wall breaker

A warwolf is a large medieval siege engine—a type of trebuchet used to hurl heavy stones at fortifications.

The most famous was built by Edward I during the 1304 siege of Stirling Castle.

The term also appears in fantasy and gaming contexts for wolf-like warrior creatures or werewolf variants.
