wallabies

Smaller Australian hoppers

Wallabies are small to medium-sized marsupials related to kangaroos, native to Australia and New Guinea.

They hop on powerful hind legs and carry their young in pouches, but are generally smaller and stockier than their kangaroo cousins: We spotted several wallabies grazing at dusk. (Capitalized Wallabies is Australia's national rugby union team.)
