wallaroos
Mid-sized Australian hoppers
Wallaroos are large marsupials native to Australia, intermediate in size between kangaroos and wallabies.
They inhabit rocky, hilly terrain and are stockier and more muscular than their relatives.
Like other macropods, they move by hopping and carry young in a pouch.
The word blends wallaby and kangaroo.
