upper atmosphere
Where ozone resides
The upper atmosphere is the region of Earth's atmosphere above the troposphere—roughly everything higher than about 10 kilometers.
It includes the stratosphere, mesosphere, and thermosphere, where weather balloons rise, meteors burn up, and auroras form.
Satellites orbit in the upper atmosphere.
The term sometimes refers loosely to any high-altitude atmospheric region.
