underhand grip
Supinated hand position
An underhand grip holds something with the palms facing upward or toward you, the opposite of an overhand grip.
In weightlifting, an underhand grip on a barbell engages different muscles than overhand: Underhand grip curls target the biceps.
The grip applies to pull-ups, rowing machines, and holding tools or weapons.
