Benign tumor syndrome

Tuberous sclerosis is a genetic disorder causing benign tumors to grow in the brain, kidneys, heart, and other organs.

The name refers to potato-like growths (tubers) that form in the brain and harden (sclerose).

Symptoms range from mild skin abnormalities to severe epilepsy, developmental delays, and organ damage.
