trolley line
Urban rail path
A trolley line is a route or system operated by trolley cars—electric streetcars that draw power from overhead wires.
The term refers both to the physical infrastructure and the service itself: The old trolley line ran from downtown to the beach.
Most American trolley lines were dismantled in the mid-20th century in favor of buses and automobiles.
