tripline
Hidden release rope
A tripline is a cord or wire stretched low across a path, designed to trip someone who walks into it or to trigger a device when disturbed.
Military and security applications use triplines to set off alarms, flares, or explosives: The patrol rigged triplines around the perimeter.
Hunters may use them to detect game movement.
