detonator
Starts the explosion
A detonator is a device that triggers an explosion in a larger explosive charge.
It contains a small amount of sensitive explosive that ignites when struck, heated, or electrically activated, producing a shock wave that sets off the main charge.
Detonators are used in mining, demolition, and weapons: The bomb squad carefully removed the detonator.
