tripping
Catching your toe
Tripping covers both physical and mental states of unsteadiness.
If you trip, you stumble or catch your foot on something; tripping is the act of doing so or a tendency toward it.
The word extends to drug experiences, especially with psychedelics: We were tripping on mushrooms all night.
Someone tripping may be hallucinating or just acting erratically.
In slang, if someone says you're tripping, they mean you're being irrational, paranoid, or making a big deal out of nothing.
