trapezoids
Four-sided parallel figures
Trapezoids are four-sided figures with at least one pair of parallel sides.
In American geometry, a trapezoid has exactly one such pair; in British usage, the same shape is called a trapezium.
The parallel sides are the bases, the non-parallel sides the legs.
Calculate the area of the trapezoid by averaging the bases and multiplying by the height.
