touchpad
Laptop mouse alternative
A touchpad is a flat, touch-sensitive surface that detects finger movement and translates it into cursor motion on a screen.
Standard on laptops as an alternative to a mouse: Use two fingers on the touchpad to scroll.
Touchpads also appear on other devices—game controllers, music equipment, smart home panels.
