tarsiers

Huge-eyed nocturnal primates

Tarsiers are small nocturnal primates native to Southeast Asian islands, notable for their enormous eyes—the largest relative to body size of any mammal.

Each eye is roughly the size of the animal's brain.

They have elongated ankle bones (tarsal bones, hence the name) that allow them to leap between trees.

Unlike most primates, they are entirely carnivorous, eating insects, lizards, and small birds.
