Orchid-shaped Indonesian island
Sulawesi is an Indonesian island east of Borneo, distinctive for its irregular shape—four long peninsulas radiating from a mountainous center.
Formerly known as Celebes, it is home to diverse ethnic groups including the Toraja, known for elaborate funeral rites, and the Bugis, historically renowned as seafarers.
We spent two weeks diving off Sulawesi.
