stardate
Spaceship log notation
Stardate is a fictional system for marking time in the *Star Trek* universe, typically expressed as a number with one decimal place: Captain's log, stardate 41153.7.
The system has no consistent internal logic across the franchise's history.
Outside *Star Trek*, stardate sometimes appears humorously or in science fiction contexts to suggest a futuristic setting.
