spelt
Heritage bread grain
Spelt is a grain related to wheat, one of the oldest cultivated crops, now grown mainly for health food markets.
It has a nutty flavor and is sometimes tolerated by people with mild wheat sensitivities: spelt bread, spelt flour.
Separately, spelt is a past tense and past participle of spell, more common in British than American English: She spelt it wrong.
