sniperscope
Long-range targeting lens
A sniperscope is a telescopic sight mounted on a rifle, especially one equipped for night vision.
The term emerged during World War II when infrared technology first allowed soldiers to aim accurately in darkness.
Modern usage extends to any high-powered rifle scope: The hunter adjusted his sniperscope before dawn.
