peep sight
Rear sight aperture
A peep sight is a rear gun sight with a small circular aperture through which the shooter looks to align the front sight with the target.
The design forces the eye to center naturally, improving accuracy.
Common on rifles and bows: The archer adjusted his peep sight before the competition.
