Motorcycle passenger support
A sissy bar is a vertical backrest mounted behind the seat of a motorcycle, rising above the passenger's back.
Despite the name, it serves practical purposes—providing support and preventing riders from sliding off during acceleration.
The term likely comes from the idea that needing back support is somehow unmanly.
