A banana seat is an elongated, curved bicycle seat that was popular on children's bikes in the 1960s and 1970s.
The seat's stretched shape and upward curve at the back resembled a banana.
These seats were often paired with high-rise handlebars and sissy bars on "chopper" style bikes: My first bike had a sparkly purple banana seat.
