One distillery's whisky
Single malt is whisky produced at a single distillery using only malted barley, as opposed to blended whisky combining products from multiple distilleries.
The term appears almost exclusively in discussions of Scotch, though other countries produce single malts: a twelve-year-old single malt from Speyside, Japanese single malts have won international awards.
