shuttlebay
Spacecraft parking area
A shuttlebay is a hangar or docking area within a larger spacecraft where smaller vessels—shuttles, shuttlecraft, or auxiliary ships—are stored, launched, and received.
The term comes from science fiction, particularly *Star Trek*, where shuttlebays are standard features of starships: The captain ordered the crew to report to shuttlebay two.
