shoulder blade

Upper back bone

The shoulder blade is the flat triangular bone at the back of the shoulder, connecting the upper arm to the collarbone.

Anatomists call it the scapula.

The shoulder blades move visibly beneath the skin when you raise your arms or pull your shoulders back: Her shoulder blades jutted out as she hunched over the desk.
