shin splints
Lower leg pain
Shin splints are pain along the shinbone, typically from overuse during running or other high-impact exercise.
The term covers several conditions causing inflammation in the muscles, tendons, or bone tissue of the lower leg: I had to stop training because of shin splints.
Rest and proper footwear usually resolve the problem.
