sea-lion

Barking coastal mammal

A sea lion is a large marine mammal with external ear flaps and long flippers, found along coastlines of the Pacific and parts of the Southern Hemisphere.

Unlike seals, sea lions can rotate their rear flippers forward to walk on land.

They're often seen basking on rocks or performing in marine parks.

Also spelled sea lion.
