rucking

Hiking with load

Rucking is walking or hiking while carrying a weighted backpack, typically for fitness or military training.

The practice originated in military conditioning, where soldiers march with loaded rucks (backpacks).

As civilian exercise, rucking offers low-impact cardio with strength benefits: I've replaced my morning jogs with rucking.

The weighted pack increases calorie burn and builds endurance without the joint stress of running.
