right fielder
Corner outfield position
A right fielder is the defensive player in baseball or softball who covers right field, the area of the outfield to the right of center field when viewed from home plate.
The position is designated by the number 9 in scorekeeping.
Right fielders typically have strong throwing arms since they must make the longest throw to third base.
The right fielder made a diving catch to end the inning.
