exhalation
Lungs pushing out
Exhalation is the act of breathing out, or the breath itself: a long exhalation of relief.
It extends to anything given off or emitted—vapor, gas, or odor: exhalations from the swamp.
The word is more formal than breath and often appears in medical, scientific, or literary contexts.
