mouth-to-mouth

Emergency breath sharing

Mouth-to-mouth is a method of artificial respiration where one person breathes directly into another's mouth to force air into the lungs: She performed mouth-to-mouth until the paramedics arrived.

Also called mouth-to-mouth resuscitation or the kiss of life.

By extension, mouth-to-mouth describes any direct, person-to-person transmission: mouth-to-mouth communication, mouth-to-mouth marketing.
