repolarise
Reset electrical orientation
To repolarise is to restore or re-establish polarity after depolarisation.
In physiology, nerve and muscle cells repolarise when they return to their resting electrical state after firing: The cardiac muscle repolarises between beats.
The term extends to any system regaining its polar character—magnetic, political, or social.
Also spelled repolarize.
