replay review
Reviewing contested calls
Replay review is the process of examining video footage to verify or overturn an official's call in a sporting event.
A coach may challenge a ruling, or officials may initiate review themselves for certain plays: The touchdown is under replay review.
The practice has become standard in professional football, basketball, baseball, and other sports where close calls benefit from a second look.
