refresh rate
Display cycles per-second
Refresh rate is how many times per second a display updates its image, measured in hertz.
A 60Hz monitor refreshes sixty times per second; a 144Hz monitor refreshes 144 times.
Higher refresh rates produce smoother motion, which matters most for gaming and video.
The new monitor's 240Hz refresh rate made gameplay noticeably fluid.
