quays

Ships dock here

Quays is the plural of quay, a wharf or platform along a waterfront where ships dock for loading and unloading.

The word is pronounced like "key." Quays often line harbors in older port cities: The fishing boats were tied up along the quays.

We walked the quays at sunset, watching the ferries come in.
