open channels
Clear communication routes
Open channels are pathways for communication that remain accessible and unrestricted.
The phrase usually describes ongoing dialogue between parties: We're keeping open channels with the negotiators.
In organizations, open channels allow information to flow freely rather than through rigid hierarchies.
The term also applies literally to waterways or frequencies that aren't blocked or reserved.
