prenup
Pre-wedding legal document
A prenup is a prenuptial agreement—a contract signed before marriage specifying how assets will be divided if the marriage ends.
Once associated mainly with the wealthy protecting family fortunes, prenups have become more common among ordinary couples: Her lawyer advised her to get a prenup.
The word can also be used as an adjective: prenup negotiations.
