popover

Airy eggy bread

A popover is a light, hollow roll made from an egg batter that puffs up dramatically during baking, creating a crisp exterior and airy interior.

The name comes from the batter rising and "popping over" the sides of the baking tin.

In computing and interface design, a popover is a small overlay that appears when clicking or hovering over an element: The settings popover appeared when I tapped the icon.
