pop-unders
Hidden browser windows
Pop-unders are advertisements that open in a new browser window behind the one you're viewing, remaining hidden until you close or minimize your main window.
They emerged as a response to pop-up blockers—harder to notice immediately, but equally unwelcome: I closed my browser and found six pop-unders waiting for me.
