political systems
How nations operate
Political systems are the structures and processes through which governments exercise authority and make decisions.
The term encompasses forms of governance—democracy, monarchy, authoritarianism, theocracy—as well as the institutions, laws, and practices that distribute power within a state.
The course compared political systems across Europe and Asia.
A country's political system shapes how leaders gain power, how citizens participate, and how conflicts are resolved.
