collective wisdom
Group's pooled knowledge
Collective wisdom is knowledge or judgment that emerges from a group rather than any individual member.
The idea is that pooling many perspectives produces better decisions than relying on one expert: The collective wisdom of the crowd predicted the election outcome more accurately than any single pollster.
The concept underlies jury systems, democratic governance, and crowdsourced projects.
Also called the wisdom of crowds.
