laser level
Light-projected reference line
A laser level is a tool that projects a beam of light to establish a perfectly straight reference line, used in construction and home improvement for tasks like hanging shelves, aligning tiles, or framing walls.
Unlike a bubble level, it can mark long distances across a room: I used a laser level to make sure the picture frames lined up.
