playhead
Audio timeline marker
A playhead is the marker showing the current position in audio or video playback—the vertical line moving across a timeline in editing software, or the point where sound is being read on a tape or record.
Drag the playhead to the beginning of the clip.
The term comes from the physical "head" that reads magnetic tape in older recording equipment.
