phonics
Reading through sounds
Phonics is a method of teaching reading by connecting letters and letter combinations with their sounds.
Children learn that "ph" sounds like "f" and that "tion" sounds like "shun," building words from their component sounds rather than memorizing them whole.
The school uses a phonics-based curriculum.
