guided reading
Instructional small-group books
Guided reading is an instructional approach where a teacher works with a small group of students reading at similar levels, providing support and strategies as they work through a text together.
The teacher selects appropriately challenging material and guides discussion, helping students develop comprehension skills they can later apply independently.
The first-graders met with Mrs. Chen for guided reading while the rest of the class worked at literacy stations.
