parent-child
Guardian and offspring
Parent-child describes the relationship between a parent and their offspring, or any hierarchical structure modeled on it.
In computing and organizational contexts, parent-child refers to nested relationships where one element contains or controls another: a parent-child relationship between database tables, parent-child folder structures.
The parent is the containing or controlling element; the child is contained or subordinate.
