symbiotic
Living together, benefiting
Symbiotic describes a relationship where different organisms live in close association, typically to mutual benefit.
The term comes from biology—lichens are symbiotic partnerships between fungi and algae—but extends to any interdependent relationship: The two companies developed a symbiotic arrangement, each supplying what the other lacked.
A symbiotic relationship implies that both parties gain from the connection, though in biology, symbiosis technically includes parasitic relationships where only one benefits.
